Latest Innovations & Technology
When it comes to precise diagnosis and treatment, we strive to offer our patients the best technology science has devised. That is why we have equipped our office with some of the finest dental technologies available today. These include the following:
|
Intra-oral camera: This allows us to project onto a monitor screen a live video image from your mouth. That means you can see what we are seeing, which means you can better understand our diagnosis and be well-informed when deciding on treatment options. |
|
|
|
Panorex X-ray system and Digital Intraoral film: With this system, it lets us take one, low-radiation exposure that shows an image of your whole mouth and you do not have to hold any film between your teeth. Aside from detecting cavities, the Panorex system is effective in helping to diagnose abscesses, tumors, and wisdom teeth problems. The Digital Intraoral films are used to detect cavities and a more detailed view. |

Health & Safety Precautions
At River City Dentistry, we provide exceptional infection control standards for all of our patients. Today, dentistry is emphasizing the importance of health and safety within the dental practice. This is accomplished through a variety of means to protect your health through the prevention of disease transmission. Cleanliness and proper sterilization techniques have been a vital part of dental practices for many years; however, the AIDS, Hepatitis B, and Herpes viruses have made these techniques much more important. The dental profession has made several visible changes in the way dental services are provided. These changes ensure your health and safety in the dental office and are sometimes referred to as the "Universal Precautions." Some of these precautions include:
-
Dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants are wearing surgical gloves, eye glasses, and masks with each patient to prevent the possibility of microorganisms from being transferred during dental procedures.
-
Dental instruments are autoclaved (heat sterilized) between each patient to protect against the possibility of cross-contamination from one patient to another. Heat sterilization kills any potentially harmful microorganisms. Whenever possible, products utilized are disposed of after each patient and protective barrier film covers are used to protect from transmission of disease.
-
Dental personnel are vaccinated against the Hepatitis B virus.
-
Special precautions are taken in the handling and disposal of potentially hazardous waste and other materials in the dental office.
-
All dental personnel receive special training in patient and environmental protection procedures.
Comfortable Practice Environment
Though our beautiful, state-of-the-art practice offers some of the most cutting edge technology, it also has the calming ambiance of home. We find most dental patients have some level of anxiety that can be reduced by a comfortable and friendly environment. Our desire is to create just that type of special atmosphere for our patients, so your experience is pleasant and relaxed.
As you walk into our warmly decorated reception area, you will be greeted by name and welcomed with a smile. Though Dr. Montz has built up a loyal following of patients, River City Dentistry is also popular for its friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. The office staff consists of dental hygienists Susan Gordon and Karla Jermyn Teegarden, business office coordinators Carolyn Taylor and Karen Osteen, and dental assistants Rose Stevens and Kelley Ranken. They are each thrilled to welcome patients to the office.
We're still excited about the uniqueness of the office! The building itself is a relaxed, Floridian style of architecture that has a wide porch with rocking chairs and paddle fans. The reception area is decorated in soothing, natural colors, and comfortable, casual furnishings to help relax the patients. The office also features the warm, original artwork of painter Susan Oller Henderson, which is based on the natural habitat of Florida. All of these aspects enhance the office atmosphere to make everyone feel comfortable. The patients and staff agree that the comfort and capabilities of the new office reflect Dr. Montz' own style and advanced approach to dentistry. Along with that, the office is high-tech, with all the latest instrumentation to provide patients with leading-edge dental services.
Six exam rooms offer massage chairs that can relax even the most anxious of patients while their dental services are being performed. Intraoral cameras allow patients to view their own teeth, so they see what their doctor sees. Digital x-ray technology ensures patients of the sharpest images with the lowest possible dose of radiation. If you need to ease your anxiety during the treatment, nitrous oxide is also available for your comfort. An advanced sterilization center with motion-sensitive cabinets and a host of high-quality sterilization equipment is a further protection of patients' health. Flat screen televisions allow for a touch of entertainment between stages of treatment. All and all, we hope you will find River City Dentistry to be an exceptional experience!
