I brought my then 86 year old mother in with a toothache. The tooth had to be extracted. I brought her in for a follow-up thinking that she would end up having to either add another tooth to her partial denture, or having to replace it. She had Parkinson's and could no longer speak. Dr. Montz asked me if she was in pain. I said "No." He asked me if she could eat. The answer was "Yes." He then said that at her age nothing more should be done - unless I insisted. Any other dentist would have suggested more work. Mom lived another two years and never had another tooth problem.
